Understanding Time in the Game "Big Walk"

I love the game Big Walk. Like me, you’ve probably caught yourself staring at the in-game watch and wondering how fast time is actually slipping by. To figure out the exact pacing, I recorded gameplay with an in-game clock and real-time clock overlay and mapped out the exact numbers.

A complete 24-hour in-game day (midnight to midnight) takes 14 real-world minutes. Because 24 hours are packed into 14 minutes, the clock hands function like this:

• The Second Hand: Ticks in real-world seconds (a full 60-second revolution takes 1 real minute).

• The Hour Hand: Tracks in-game hours.

If you are planning a long expedition across the island and want to avoid getting caught in total darkness, here is how the 14-minute total cycle splits between day and night:

• Sunrise: ~5:00 AM (in-game)

• Sunset: ~7:00 PM (in-game)

• Daylight Phase: Lasts about 8 minutes real-time.

• Night Phase: Lasts about 6 minutes real-time.

Night passes quickly in under 6 real minutes. If you need daylight to solve a visual puzzle, waiting out the dark won't take long. Enjoy the game!
