Today I officially deleted my facebook and instagram accounts. The site deletefacebook.com was extremely helpful. The process was simple, surprisingly. They asked if I wanted to back up my data, which I did. It took about 30 minutes for my downloads to be ready, then I confirmed that I wanted to delete my accounts. They’ll still be around for 30 days in case I change my mind, which I don’t think I will, but that is nice in case something does pop up that needs facebook access.

Why delete my accounts? I haven’t posted in over a year, it’s a waste of my time, and I don’t agree with most of what their platforms are or what they stand for as a company.

Damn, it feels good to finally be gone from those two platforms.
