Socially and Physically Fit with the iOS Health App
Now that I have an iPhone 6, I love checking the Health.app to see how many steps I’ve taken. There’s one benefit of using the app that I didn’t expect.
I have noticed that I look at my phone a lot less when I’m walking, mainly because I want to make sure every step counts on the Health.app. My logic is that an iPhone in the pocket captures more steps than an hand-held iPhone. The result is I am more social in the halls at work and I feel more present in my surroundings. Also, my neck is less stressed and my posture has improved.
I think it’ a great side effect of keeping your phone in your pocket. Now I’m wondering how future products, namely the Apple Watch, will change my habits. I can’t wait to find out.
